As a traditional carbon material, porous carbon material has attracted much attention. Different morphology and special pore structure make it widely used in adsorption separation, catalyst carrier, energy storage and other fields. At present, porous carbon is mainly prepared from coal tar pitch, petroleum pitch, polymer, biomass and so on by physical and chemical activation method, mixed carbonization method, organic gel method and template method. In this paper, three kinds of porous carbon, foam carbon, spherical porous carbon and activated carbon, are described as representatives.
